This initiative, which was launched by City Hall last Thursday with the announcement of a new <strong>Traffic regulation<\/strong> The aim is to protect nature from the effects of sporting or tourist activities. <strong>Excursions<\/strong> with <strong>Quads<\/strong>, <strong>Buggies<\/strong> or <strong>Off-road vehicle<\/strong> to protect them. The villages too <strong>Felanitx, Manacor, Art\u00e0 and Alc\u00fadia<\/strong> have endorsed this important change.<\/p>\n<p>\"In recent years, Mallorca has seen many <strong>Organized tourist excursions<\/strong>motorized vehicles in <strong>rural and protected areas<\/strong> used\", explained the mayor of Algaida, Marga Fullana. \"Unfortunately, the popularity of these tours has also led to considerable damage to our environment.\" Local authorities have therefore developed a new regulation to preserve nature and at the same time protect the island's cultural heritage, which includes the traditional dry stone walls.<\/p>\n<p>The new regulation stipulates that <strong>Vehicles may only drive on suitable and approved roads and paths<\/strong>. Parking is only permitted in designated areas and the maximum speed in these zones is limited to <strong>30 kilometers per hour<\/strong> limited.
