On Mallorca, the long stretches of coastline not only offer relaxation, but also the perfect opportunity for long walks on the beach that combine exercise and cooling off. It is particularly beautiful when the sun slowly sinks into the sea. Here are some of the best beaches to explore at sunset:

Playa de Palma

Clemens van Lay - Unsplash

The Playa de Palma is the classic among Mallorca's beaches and, with its central location and a length of over four kilometers, offers plenty of space for relaxing walks on the beach. The beach is divided into 15 sections, the so-called Balneariosdivided into sections. There are beach kiosks offering cool refreshments at each of these sections. The atmosphere changes depending on the section: Near Palma, you are more likely to meet locals, while towards Balneario 6 becomes increasingly lively - German party tourists dominate the scene here. Those who prefer a quieter environment will find between Balneario 1 and 3 a more relaxed atmosphere, where many Dutch people can be found.

Playa Pollença

Quino Al - Unsplash

In the far north of Mallorca, in the picturesque coastal town of Port de Pollençathe Playa Pollença. This three-kilometer-long beach is divided into the Playa d'Albercutx and the Playa dels Tamarells on. The Playa d'Albercutx consists of several small bays with narrow sandy, pebble and rocky beaches and very shallow water, making it ideal for families. The Tamarells on the other hand, impresses with its wide, 40-metre-long sandy beach, which is perfect for long walks on the beach. Here you can let your gaze wander over the deep blue sea and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Playa de Muro

Andreas Johansson - Unsplash

A true Island feeling awaits you at the Playa de Muro in the northeast of Mallorca. The beach is divided into four sections, each with its own character. Sector 1 starts at the end of the Puerto de Alcúdia and is ideal for those who would like to take a trip on one of the excursion boats. Sector 2 offers a good infrastructure with numerous Chiringuitoswhich are ideal for a break. Nature lovers will enjoy the undeveloped dune area of Sector 3, Es ComúThe area is quiet and has a nudist-friendly atmosphere. The southernmost section, Sector 4extends to Can Picafort and offers in Es Capellans a variety of hotels, restaurants and stores to round off the beach experience.

Playa Es Trenc

Vacation tracker - Unsplash

The Playa Es Trenc is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and is the longest natural beach in Mallorca. On the South coast of the sunny islandmore precisely in the Southeast Mallorca, this beach stretches over a length of 6 kilometers from Sa Ràpita to Colonia Sant Jordi. With its powdery white sand and crystal-clear water, Es Trenc offers the ultimate Caribbean feeling on Mallorca and attracts numerous visitors year after year.

But with the popularity comes the crowds - especially in the high season. The adjacent nature reserve means that many beach bars have been closed and less seaweed is removed to protect nature. Despite the crowds, Es Trenc remains an incomparable place that combines the typical Mallorcan beach feeling with a touch of the Caribbean and is particularly suitable for those who want to experience the original, unspoiled Mallorca.

isla Reading tip:

How did Mallorca's beautiful beaches actually come into being?

Hike and talk about Mallorca

Discover the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca for relaxing beach walks.
