Mallorca - island of tranquillity, or rather of parties? Well, it depends on where you look. Sure, at the Ballermann and in Magaluf<\/strong> but even in idyllic vacation resorts, where you are actually looking for peace and quiet, it can get loud. The problem: vacation homes that guests like to turn into party locations. This is less entertaining for the neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the party wants M\u00e9s per Menorca<\/strong> remedy. And with new rules that Living together<\/strong> between holidaymakers and locals a little more harmonious. What does M\u00e9s per Menorca suggest? Quite simply: Parties between 11 pm and 8 am<\/strong> should no longer be allowed in vacation homes. And the responsibility lies with the landlords. If it does get loud, penalties of up to 30,000 euros<\/strong> threaten. And if that is not enough, even the loss of the Rental license<\/strong> for up to three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason for this move? Loud parties have repeatedly caused displeasure in recent years and the neighbors finally want to sleep peacefully again. An ambitious project that aims to ensure more peace and quiet in the touristy residential areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vacation landlords under observation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vacation landlords have been at the center of the debate for some time now. While the Hoteliers<\/strong> blaming vacation homes - especially illegal ones - for the lack of affordable housing, the Vacation landlord association Habtur<\/strong> his industry. According to Habtur, vacation rentals are an important source of income for many families in Mallorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains to be seen whether the new rules will prevail. But for the neighbors in the vacation resorts, it could be a glimmer of hope - for quieter nights and fewer nocturnal escapades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addendum: Tougher measures decided against party tourism in vacation homes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, September 17<\/strong>the Balearic Parliament has, in a rare Unanimity<\/strong> decided that vacation landlords who do not take action against party tourism in their accommodation will be punished more severely in future. The proposal of the Opposition party M\u00e9s per Menorca<\/strong> provides that landlords who repeatedly violate the Rest periods<\/strong> with high fines<\/strong> have to reckon with.
