The start of the summer season in the Balearic Islands brings with it many opportunities in the retail sector, especially for those looking for seasonal employment. German retail giant Aldi has announced plans to hire around 50 new employees for its stores in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. This information was officially announced in a press release.
Aldi operates a total of 14 supermarkets on the Balearic Islands. The recruitment process is planned to take place in May and June. The new positions are mainly in the daily operations of the supermarkets, including tasks such as restocking shelves, customer service and ensuring correct price labeling.
Applicants should have at least an intermediate level of education. Experience in retail and additional training in this area are an advantage, but not essential. Aldi attaches great importance to customer orientation, a sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently. Another criterion is that applicants should ideally live close to their future place of work, as the company does not offer any assistance in finding accommodation.
In return, Aldi offers a fixed-term employment contract that includes all statutory social benefits. In addition, there are in-house training programs for all employees. Interested candidates should present themselves in person at the nearest Aldi store, as online applications are not possible for these positions.
This measure is part of Aldi's efforts to cope with the expected increase in tourist numbers during the high season and at the same time improve the shopping experience for all customers. The company has also established itself as an important employer in the Balearic Islands, contributing to the local economy and creating jobs.
