Santa Catalina Tomàs: A festival in new splendor
The Festes de la Beata in Palma are all about Santa Catalina Tomàsthe only saint in Mallorca. This year, the saint is being honored in a special way - in keeping with her 450th anniversary of death. Since July, a Arc de Triomphe the Ramblawho works with six meters high and sparkling gold leaf attracts everyone's attention. The big parade on Saturday, October 19 at 6.30 pmbrings the freshly restored Body of the saints on the move again - a real highlight. About 5,000 strips of fake gold leaf were used to build the historic vehicle from the year 1868 to shine in new splendor.
The move is accompanied by 36 music and dance groups and round 900 participants. The streets of Palma are filled with music, dance and tradition - and it's not just an absolute must for locals.
FIET: Theater and more for the whole family
For those who prefer a more cultural experience, the FIET Stage Arts Festival in Vilafranca visit. From the October 17 to 20 a colorful program is offered there, ranging from Theater about Dance up to Circus is enough. Fun for the whole family, with younger visitors in particular getting their money's worth. But adults will also appreciate the creative productions.
