Club de Mar is nearing completion: opening of Mallorca's most modern marina

The renovation of Club de Mar, one of Mallorca's best-known marinas, is progressing rapidly and the main building has already been completed. José Luis Arrom, director and board member of the club, confirmed that the extension work will be completed on schedule in the last quarter of the year. This ambitious project, which straddles the Paseo Marítimo and the cruise terminals, will be positioned as the "most modern and sustainable marina in the Mediterranean", according to Arrom.

The total cost of the redesign is 60 million euros. The Club de Mar is not just a facility for yachts, but will also provide a public connection axis once completed, linking the Paseo Marítimo with other parts of the port area. In addition, a diagonal link will be created that will represent a new access point to the city.

The interest in the new business premises is enormous: around 300 applications have already been received, including souvenir stores, jewelry stores, perfumeries and supermarkets. The high demand for catering space is particularly noteworthy. Five high-caliber applications for the future restaurant promise culinary highlights, including renowned chefs and well-known national and international restaurant groups.

The extensive conversion work not only includes the renovation of the existing structures, but also the construction of two parking decks with a total of 97 parking spaces. This will significantly improve the parking situation in the area and offer visitors additional convenience.

The port authority gave the green light for the modernization project back in October 2017, which also includes an extension of the concession period until 2044. Over the next few years, Club de Mar will pay fees amounting to 250 million euros, making the project one of the most important nautical leisure projects in Spain.

The Club de Mar Mallorca is about to complete a long-awaited transformation process that will not only turn the port into a state-of-the-art marina, but will also enrich the cultural and social life of Palma de Mallorca.
