On Thursday afternoon, around a dozen activists from the group "Mallorca por Palestina" gathered in front of the German consulate in Palma to protest against Germany's support for Israel. The demonstrators handed a letter to Consul Wolfgang Engstler in which they demanded a radical change in German foreign policy. "The German state must no longer participate in what we consider to be genocide in Gaza," they emphasized in their appeal.

The group's demands are clear and direct: the immediate cessation of all arms supplies to Israel, the end of any diplomatic support or justification by the German government for Israel's actions, an immediate ceasefire and the lifting of all restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza, as well as comprehensive reparations to the Palestinian people.

Stefan Armborst, a German from Felanitx and one of the leading organizers of the protest action, made a clear statement to the media: "Germany is partly to blame for the genocide in Gaza. Our history must not be used to justify supporting the massacre of Palestinians."

The protest action is part of a larger campaign that will continue next Saturday, April 20. "Mallorca por Palestina" is planning a human chain at the train station in Plaza España to continue to draw attention to the rights of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. The rally is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am and promises to send a strong signal for peace and justice.
